Kumasi, Sep. 03, GNA – A retired Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has advised the youth to get themselves actively involved in the work of God and desist from acts that could ruin their lives in future.
Reverend Patrick Odame Gyenti, says God needed the youth who were more energetic to work in His vineyard to win more souls and spread the gospel to all people.
Rev. Gyenti, who had been in the gospel ministry for 53 years, made the call at a retirement and thanksgiving service organized in his honour by the Emmanuel Congregation of the Presbyterian Church at Maakro in the Suame Municipality.
Rev. Gyenti was until his retirement, the second Minister of the Church.
He asked Christians to serve God diligently and that reward would come from the Lord.
Sharing his life experiences as a Reverend Minister he said that “being a Reverend Minister is not easy, it takes the help of God, patience, obedience, true humility and sometimes understanding to get closer to God”.
He said Christians’ faithfulness to the Lord would bring financial progress in their lives, and they should always have faith in God as individuals and as a congregation.
Rev. Emmanuel Obour, the First Minister of the Church applauded Rev. Gyenti for the good work he had done in the church and the district, adding that it had had a positive impact on the present and future generations of the church.
He pleaded with the church to always remember the retired Reverend Minister in their prayers as he brings his gospel work to an end.
