Accra, Aug. 6, GNA – After 28 years of birthing, nurturing and growing the Danpong Group of Companies, Dr Yaw Adu Gyamfi has handed over the mantel of leadership as its Founder and Chief Executive Officer to Mr Prince Yamoah and Mr Fred Golo.

Mr Yamoah takes over as the Chief Executive Officer of Danadams Pharmaceuticals Industrial Limited, Ghana’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company while Mr Golo assumes the role of the Chief Executive Officer of Danpong Healthcare, a private primary health facility.

Speaking at a brief ceremony on Thursday in Accra, Dr Gyamfi said he bowed out fulfilled after having steered the affairs of the company since 1992.

“This is the right time for me to pass on the baton to young, dynamic and energetic young people to work hard to realise the group’s vision of providing sustainable health care in Africa,” he said.

“Over the years, we have been re-investing in our growth, recruiting better talent, building improved facilities and expanding our business to other parts of Africa”.

He said the success and sustainability of the company would hinge on the proper practice of good governance, exemplary leadership and innovation.

Dr Gyamfi advised them to remain committed, loyal, transparent, maintain their integrity, and explore new opportunities to grow.

“When I started Danadams in 2005, my prayer was to be a contributing leader among Africans who are taking charge of solving our continent’s challenges,” he said.

Mr Yamoah, in an acceptance speech, said his aim was to build on the existing structures to transform the company into a world-class pharmaceutical brand and increase its market share.

According to him, the theme to spur him to achieve his goal is, “Efficient Resource Management and Quality but Affordable Pharmaceutical Products.”

He urged the workers to support the vision of the company through dedication and selflessness, as well as striving for excellence.

Mr Golo also gave an assurance to work hard to realise the Founders’ dream of building a ‘generational company’ that would be a leading health facility that provided excellent, satisfactory and affordable service to the ordinary Ghanaian.

“This dream will include the building of an ultra-modern hospital facility, strengthening of internal systems and structures, building a product and portfolio that is relevant to its clients,” he said.
