Cape Coast, July 2, GNA – The management of Ridge Royal Hotel in Cape Coast has reopened its facility to provide services to clients.
The move followed a temporary closure in March in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak, which compelled the Government to close hotels, restaurants, bars and night clubs as part of efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
Briefing the media after a tour of the facility, Mr Samuel Obiri Aduama, General Manager, said the facility was working hard to ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 safety protocols to restore confidence.
In this regard, security personnel are at the entrance of the Hotel to check the temperature of clients.
The personal details of all people entering the premises were taking at the front desk with varied identification codes for easy tracing in case of the symptoms of the virus.
Rigorous cleaning and multiple disinfection by staff in protective covers were also ensured.
Additionally, Mr Aduama announced plans to organise regular health training programmes for staff and work to ensure that logistics were supplied timely to maintain safety standards.
Mr Aduama cited rising cost of operation and loss of revenue following the closure.
However, he said, the management had to ensure staff were paid over the closed period.
He urged stakeholders to strictly abide by the industry and the Ghana Health Service protocols to maintain standards and to help ensure that businesses survived.
Mr Kwame Gyasi, the Regional Director of Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), praised the management of the Hotel for the stringent, but innovative measures put in place to keep the facility into operation.
He assured of his outfit’s support for all players in the hotel and tourism sector to adhere to the protocols and sustain businesses to grow and employ more.
