Local Government Service has not issued fresh recruitment adverts

Accra, June 24, GNA – The Office of the Head of local Government Service (OHLGS) says it has not issued any recruitment advert, inviting applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians to fill eleven vacant positions in some specific regions.

The Service has also not contracted any institution or individual to so on its behalf.

The OHLGS said this in a statement it copied to the Ghana News Agency, signed by Mr James Oppong-Mensah, the Acting Chief Director, for the Head of Service.

According to the statement, the false information has gained wide circulation on social media platforms, but should be disregarded by the public.

It entreated individuals who needed clarification on the said issue to contact Mr Joseph Ankamah, the Head of Public Affairs via the mobile phone number 0243127564.

The Local Government Service is a public service institution with the mandate to secure the effective administrative and management of decentralized local government system in the country.

It is made up of the Office of the Head of Local Government Service, the Regional Coordinating Councils, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies and their sub-structures.
