The players who were unhappy expressed that, they had been inactive since the Ethiopia league was canceled due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.

The players, led by Muntari Tagoe and former Black Stars defender Lee Addy stressed that they have spent all their funds on rent and food adding that they needed to return home because their work permit would end on June 30, 2020.

The GFA President in a post on his social media handle, Facebook said “I have just taken notice of a video of some Ghanaian footballers who seem to be stranded in Ethiopia.

“I’m in contact with Hon. Issac Kwame Asiamah the Sports Minister, has directed that contact be made with the boys and the Ghana Embassy in Ethiopia.

“All hands on deck at the moment to offer every support to our brothers.

“Soon, this too shall pass!”
