Ashaiman SHS readies for academic work amidst Covid-19

Ashiaman, June 23, GNA – The Ashaiman Senior High School is getting ready to start academic work in earnest after authorities disinfected the entire school in anticipation of the commencement of academic work.

Mr Isaac Narh Dorh, Assistant Headmaster, Academic Affairs, speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the school had made adequate preparations ahead of the reopening.

He said apart from fumigating the entire school including; classrooms, dormitories amongst others, a cleanup exercise was undertaken to rid the school off filth.

“The school has been fumigated twice and only last week Friday it was disinfected again ahead of the return of final year students and a section of form two students, ” he said.

Mr Dorh said to curb the spread of the virus, and in spite of the sensitization throughout the country, communication posters had been pasted to notify students to wear their nose mask, practice social distancing, washing of hands and ensuring cleanliness at all times.

Miss Eunice Duke, a final year agriculture student, expressed excitement about government’s directive to enable final year students to return to school in preparation for their final exams, and said “our faith is in God’s hands to protect as from Covid-19.”

Mr Osabutey Amanor, a staff of the Pace Senior High School in Ashaiman, observed that the school had procured veronica buckets, toilet rolls, sanitizers amongst others with fumigation done in dormitories and classrooms to accommodate the students.
