Jasikan (O/R), June 19, GNA – The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Jasikan District of the Oti region has started intensified district-wide public education on the COVID-19 disease.
The exercise, which commenced on Thursday, June 18 is the phase II of the education aimed at promoting strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols as part of efforts to reduce and contain the spread of the virus in the District.
Mr. Stephen Mensah, the Jasikan District Director of the NCCE said the programme would continue through to August, this year and was aimed at reaching about 60 communities in the District.
He said the exercise was being done through public announcements, visitation to faith-based organizations, community engagements and usage of community information centres in the District.
Some communities the Commission engaged were; Amenyo Kope, Asele, Awoma, Kute, Lekanti, Dzoku, Old Ayoma, Dzolu, and New Ayoma.
