Juaso (Ash), June 19, GNA – Mr. Kwaku Asante-Boateng, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante-Akim South Constituency is upbeat about his chances of winning the Party’s parliamentary primaries in the constituency.
He said his achievements in the last eight years as MP left no chance for the other contestants to oust him in the crunch election, which promises to be one of the fiercest in the Ashanti Region.
“I am confident that the delegates will approve my third term bid to continue advancing the developmental aspirations of the people of Asante-Akim South”, he told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Juaso.
He said virtually, every community in the constituency had benefited from his stewardship, which had been impactful and also visible across the constituency.
He said the delegates remembered the major role he played to sustain the party while in opposition at a time when all those contesting him were nowhere to be found.
“I think continuity is very critical at this point to the accelerated development of the constituency and the delegates are poised to maintain me in order not to derail the progress we are making as a people”, Mr. Asante-Boateng opined.
He said his partnership with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Alexander Frimpong had been of great benefit to the constituency, saying that, it was only appropriate for him to continue for sustainable development of the area.
Mr. Asante-Boateng who is seeking to be the first MP to win a third term bid in the constituency since the fourth republic is facing competition from four others.
They are Mr. Bice Obour Osei-Kuffour, immediate past President of the Musicians Union of Ghana, Mr. Eric Amofa, an NPP activist in the UK, Mr. William Yamoah, a presidential staffer and Mr. Edmond Oppong-Peprah, a lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University.
