Vodafone Ghana distributes face masks to vendors

Accra, June 18, GNA – Vodafone Ghana has distributed facemasks to its agents and distributors across the country to enable them carry out the President’s directive of mandatory mask wearing.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Sunday in his 11th address to the nation announced the mandatory wearing of face mask as part of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Mrs Patricia Obo-Nai, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vodafone, in an address to the media said the nationwide exercise sought to protect the field workers in the wake of the pandemic.

She said Vodafone since the outbreak have been supporting customers, employees and society through a number of initiatives.

“We have done a lot for students by zero rating our online platforms to enable them study, providing data for customers as well as doing a lot of data expansion,” she said.

Mrs Obo-Nai said if Vodafone would thrive then there is the need to ensure their field workers are well taken care of to enable them carryout their daily activities.

“So today together with my team we are out here to show a token of love and we are doing this across the country.”

“If something happens to the agent I do not have a business and this affects his or her household as well. So this is not just about protecting the agent but also their families,” she stated.

This is our way of showing love to the agents for all the contributions they have made towards the business development, the CEO said.

She advised the vendors to ensure they were in their face masks at all times to fight the spread of the disease.
