Juaben (Ash), June 17, GNA – The Juaben Traditional Council in partnership with White Chapel Holdings (WCH), has donated quantities of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Juaben Municipal government hospital.
The items are to help protect the frontline health workers and support them in the discharge of their duties.
They included 20,000 pieces of face masks, 200 packs of sanitized hand wipes, 25 gun thermometers, and a respirator, totaling 10,000 US Dollars.
Mr. Kwaku Ankomah Asare, Registrar of the Traditional Council, who presented the items on behalf of the paramount chief, Nana Otuo Siriboe II, said the gesture was to augment efforts by the government and encourage the health workers to continue to work without any fear or panic.
He said frontline workers were vulnerable and there was the need to support and protect them from contracting the virus.
Mr Asare urged other philanthropists and individuals from the traditional area to come on board and contribute their quota to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Daniel Ofori, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the White Chapel Holdings, commended the traditional council for the collaboration and urged the community members to cooperate with the health authorities and observe all the preventive protocols and directives by the government.
This, according to him was the surest way to stay safe from catching the virus.
Dr. Kofi Buah Bosque-Hamilton, the Medical Director of the hospital commended the WCH and the traditional council for the gesture and promised that the items would be utilized effectively to achieve the intended purpose.
He said 12, out of the 14 suspected cases that were reported to the hospital have been confirmed to be negative while the results of the remaining two were yet to be made available.
Dr. Bosque-Hamilton called on the people to adhere to all the preventive protocols to protect themselves from the disease.
