COVID-19: Ghana confirms 304 new infections

Accra, June 14, GNA – Ghana has confirmed 304 new infections of the COVID-19, bringing the country’s case count to 11,422, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced.

Additionally, it has confirmed three new deaths, increasing the country’s death toll to 51.

Also, a total of 177 patients have recovered from the virus since the last update, with total recoveries now standing at 4,156.

The country’s current active cases now stand at 7,215.

The 304 new cases, per the latest update, were recorded in six regions of the country.

They are the Greater Accra- 109; Oti Region- 46; Western Region- 42; Volta Region- 38; Central Region- 37 and Ashanti Region- 32.

The Greater Accra remains the epicenter of the disease in the country with a case count of 6,997, representing more than 60 percent of the country’s total cases.

The Ashanti Region also saw its case count exceeds the 2,000 mark, making it the second hotspot of the virus in the country and with a case count of 2,021.

The Western, Central, and Volta regions all saw increases in their case count since the last update to 951, 621, and 250 cases respectively.
