Birim Central Municipal NCCE educates artisans

Akim Oda (E/R), June 11, GNA – The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Birim Central Municipality has sensitised artisans on precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Staff of the NCCE met with members of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association, Electronics Association and the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (GHABA).

Ms Rejoice Biscoff, the NCCE Municipal Director advised members of the associations to frequently wash their hands under running water, avoid stigmatisation of people who had recovered from covid-19 and wear nose masks to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

She advised church leaders and members to strictly comply with all the protocols directed by the government.

The Municipal Director advised the church leaders to ensure that their members sit at least, one metre apart, acquire thermometer gun and get a health worker to check temperatures of their members before they enter their churches and observe the one-hour church service.

She also advised the church leaders to disinfect their buildings and advise their members to wear face-masks outside their homes.

“Observing the health protocols are important because they help to protect their congregants from contracting the coronavirus” Madam Biscoff observed.

Mr Isaac Essah, the Secretary of the Electronics Association thanked NCCE for the interactive discussion and assured that they would adhere to the directives.
