Laweh Open University College leads in online examination

Accra (GAR), June 9, GNA – Students of Laweh Open University College-Ghana located at Nungua in the Greater Accra Region have lauded the institution for introducing online examination.

Madam Bridget-Ivy Ankoma, a level 400 Human Resource Management student, said the university is a trail blazer in E-Learning which has curbed many inconveniences encountered by students.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Professor Goski Alabi, President of Laweh Open University College, Ghana, said the significance of the success of the end of semester online examination was the fact that it took place during the lockdown in April, 2020, when students far and near needed a system that would enable them to take the examination at their various homes.

He said the system put in place in conducting the examination included digital examination, responsive scheduling, support system for technical concerns and effective implementation of a digital examination policy, guideline and precordial.

She said, ahead of the examination, students were taken through the various steps needed to successfully write the examination.

Professor Alabi said the students were made to see vetted and already moderated questions by their mentors at the Open University of Tanzania which were set up on the University’s Learning Management System (LMS) for students.

She called on other University Colleges which have challenges in conducting the online examination and distance education to consult Laweh University College for technological infrastructure support.
