COVID-19: Ghana’s case count up by 294

Accra, June 06, GNA – Ghana’s confirmed COVID-19 cases have hit 9,462 after 294 new cases were recorded since the last update, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has disclosed.

The new cases, the GHS said, were recorded in seven regions: Ashanti -127, Greater Accra- 77, Western-61, Central-26, Eastern- One, Western North- One and Bono East – One.

The latest update also saw the country’s recoveries rise to 3,547 from the previous 3,457, an increase of 90.

Additionally, two more patients have succumbed to the virus, bringing the death toll now to 44.

Ghana’s active case count now stands at 5,871.

The Greater Accra Region remains the hotspot of the pandemic in the country, accounting for 6,282 of the total.

The Ashanti Region follows with 1,645, while the Western Region now has 580.

The Ahafo Region remains the sole region with no confirmed case of the virus.
