Driver jailed for stealing church instruments

Nkawie (Ash), June 03, GNA – A 28-year-old driver, who unlawfully entered a chapel and stole musical instruments, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Nkawie Circuit Court.

Moro Suleman was said to have entered the Power Life Anointing Ministry Church at Mpatoam in the Amansie West District, and made away with a keyboard, amplifier, mixture, curtains and other items in the Church.

He pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and stealing and was convicted on his own plea.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr Sylvanus Dalmeida, told the court presided by Mr Johnson Abbey that, the complainant, Pastor Emmanuel Wiredu, was informed by a church member of the theft on May 28, this year, at about 7:30 am.

He said an hour later, another person called the complainant and informed him about the arrest of the convict at Nkawie with the items.

DSP Wiredu said the complainant went to the police station and identified the items as those of the Church.

Suleman admitted the offence in his caution statement and was therefore, charged and brought before the court.
