Akoradarko(E/R), May 28, GNA – World Vision Ghana has built a three-unit Kindergarten block with auxiliary facilities to Akoradarko, a farming community in the Fanteakwa North District in the Eastern Region.
The auxiliary facilities include toilet/bath, restroom, poly tank, play equipment, and teaching materials
Attached to the US$121,622 school facility, is a four-unit teacher’s accommodation for teachers to improve quality education for children especially at the kindergarten level for the deprived community and was funded by the World Vision Korea support office and others in Korea.
Mr Andrew Ofosu-Dankyi, Education Technical Programe Manager at World Vision Ghana indicated that the facility would provide a safe and conducive learning environment for the children and also reduce teacher attrition for lack of accommodation and many challenges.
He thanked the district assembly, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), and the School Management Committee for their collaboration towards the successful completion of the project and urged them to monitor to ensure that the intended purpose was fully achieved.
The project which started a year ago was completed on schedule and so far registered 230 boys and 217 girls with ten male and four female teachers to provide quality education for a thousand more children in the community.
