NDC parliamentary candidate supplies food items to Zongo communities

Juaso (Ash), May 28, GNA – Maame Sarfoah Appiah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Asante-Akim South has donated food items to over 80 Zongo communities in the Constituency.

The items, which included bags of rice, packs of bottled water and cooking oil was to support Muslims end their fast during the Holy month of Ramadan.

The parliamentary aspirant also extended similar support to the aged and vulnerable in the Constituency during the partial lockdown to ease the economic hardship they were facing.

As she toured the Constituency to impact lives, Maame Sarfoah took advantage to distribute nose masks, hand sanitizers and Veronica buckets in markets and other public places as her contribution towards the fight against the pandemic.

She also spared some time to educate the people on the need to observe all the safety protocols recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after handing over some food items to the Imam of Umar Khattab Mosque at Juaso-Junction, the Parliamentary Candidate said the donation was to support the Muslims as they observed the month-long religious obligation.

She underlined the need for the public to adhere to the precautionary measures to stay safe from the deadly disease.
“I am not here to do politics but to remind all of us that the virus has no political colour and can infect anybody so take your personal safety serious so that we can collectively defeat the virus”, she advised.

Ustaz Mohammed Nurudeen Kassim, the Imam of the Umar Khattab Mosque who received the items, applauded the Parliamentary Candidate for the gesture and prayed for Almighty Allah to grant her heart desires.
