Church donates to Bolga East Health Directorate

Zuarungu (UE), May 18, GNA – The Blessed International Revival Center, California, has donated assorted medical equipment to the Bolgatanga East District Health Directorate, Upper East Region.

The items included 500 pieces of isolation gowns, 3000 syringes, Catheters, 1,000 first aid kits, ambo bags, chamber pots, and bed nebulizers among others.

Reverend Peter Atiah, the Director of the West African branch of the Revival Center, who presented the items to the District Chief Executive of the Bolgatanga East District, Dr. Emmanuel Abole Abugre, said it was meant to support health delivery services in the area.

The District Chief Executive commended Reverend Atiah for his good work in the District and lauded his colleagues for the contribution towards boosting health services in the district.

The DCE who recounted challenges of the two- year- old district, noted that achievements chalked by the Assembly were remarkable.

He indicated that health service delivery was most important in the area and called on all philanthropic organization to support the district.

On COVID 19, the DCE praised the President of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa –Akufo Addo, for the good initiative put in place to fight the pandemic.

He called for more support to help alleviate the challenges of the area and the country as a whole to fight the COVID 19 pandemic.

Mr Eugene Osei – Yeboah, the District Health Director of the Ghana Health Services thanked the Blessed International Revival Center for the donation and said it would go a long way to help the health facilities in the district.

He stressed the importance of the items received and appealed for more support to improve maternal health services in the area.

He said the district had 15 health facilities and CHPS compounds and required other key equipment such as those for checking the blood count of pregnant women who visit the facilities.

Other essential items the health facilities lacked include delivery kits, beds and mattresses, and a Mobile ultrasound machine which could help improve maternal health delivery, he said.
