Newmont Ghana supports the construction of isolation unit

New Abirem (E/R), May 17, GNA – The Newmont, Ghana- Akyem Mines, has supported the New Abirem Government Hospital with building materials worth GH¢ 28,500.00 to complete the construction of an isolation unit started by the hospital.

The materials included roofing sheets, tiles, wooden boards, bags of cement, paint, and sanitary ware.

Presenting the items to the facility, Mr Joshua Mortoti, the General Manager of Newmont, Ghana, Akyem Mines, said the project was to serve the district in case it records any positive case.

He said the company decided to support the facility to complete the project because the district lacked an isolation center.

Mr Mortoti assured that his company would continue to support the local assemblies and medical institutions in their operational areas with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Mr Mortoti called on all and sundry to adhere to the government’s directives put in place to minimize the spread of the fast-spreading coronavirus in the country.
