McDan Foundation donates to Muslim Chiefs

Accra, May 16, GNA – The McDan Foundation has presented bags of rice to selected Muslim Chiefs in the Northern and the Greater Accra Regions to mark this year’s Holy month of Ramadan.

The donation worth GH¢300,000.00 forms part of the Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility in contributing towards humanity.

The beneficiaries are the Gbewaa Palace, the seat of the Yaa Naa of Dagbon Kingdom, the Buglana Palace, and the Nyankpala Palace.

The rest are Lameshegu Palace, the Bamvim Palace, the Tolon Palce, the Dakpema Palce, the Mion Lana Palace, the Gulkpe Palace, all in Tamale and the Madina Dagomba Chief in Accra.

A statement signed by Mr Frank Oduro, the Head of the Foundation and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, said the donation was done on behalf of Dr Daniel McKorley, the Executive Chairman of McDan Group of companies.

Dr McKorley was on December 2017 enskinned as the Gugba Naa of the Tamale Traditional Area by Mr Mohammed Alhassan Dawuni, the Dakpema Naa with the Gugba Naa title means unifier, and adds to the Dakpema Naa’s efforts at building peace, unity and development in the community.

The statement said the Foundation had over the years built schools in deprived communities and would continue the gesture to put smiles on their faces.

The Foundation initiated an entrepreneurial programmes for prospective youth entrepreneurs, and invested in youth sports development by building modern astro turfs in the country.

Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II, the overlord of Dagbon, who received the items, expressed his appreciation to the Foundation for the tremendous support to the chiefs and people of the Northern Region.
