Sefwi- Waiwso (W/N), May 15, GNA – Katatakyie Kwasi Bumangamah II, Paramount chief of Sefwi- Waiwso traditional council in the Western North Region has presented Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth GH¢50,000 to the Western North Regional Coordinating Council to help in fighting COVID-19 pandemic in the Region.
He also donated a quantity of sanitary kits to all radio stations in the Region.
The items, which would be distributed to the various health institutions and other public institutions include; 110 Veronica buckets, 25 boxes of hand sanitizers, 75 packs of tissue paper, 1,120 pieces of toilet rolls, 500 gallons of liquid soap, 2,000 pieces of locally made nose masks and 500 pieces of clinical nose masks.
The rest are; 20 pairs of theater boots, 100 pieces of surgical Aprons and 20 surgical gloves.
Nana Elluo Payin,chief of Sefwi- Nsuansua and Kyidomhene of Waiwso traditional council, who presented the items on behalf of the Paramount chief said the fight was the responsibility of all, hence the donation to argument government’s efforts in the fight against the pandemic.
He lauded government’s efforts in the fight against the pandemic and called on Ghanaians to take into account all the accepted World Health Organization protocols which include; frequent hand washing with soap under running water, observing social and physical distancing, wearing of nosemasks and avoiding over crowded places to defeat the pandemic.
Mr Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu, Western North Regional Minister who received the items on behalf of the Regional Coordinating Council, commended the Paramount chief for the gesture and promised to distribute them to all the health and public institutions in the Region.
He reminded residents that the ban on closure of drinking spots and pubs as well as special market days were still in force and asked residents to comply with the directives instituted by the Regional Coordinating Council.
