Charger Limited supports GNA’s COVID-19 awareness campaign

Accra, May 12, GNA – Charger Limited, a beverage company has presented 500 pieces of face masks and 600 pieces of hand sanitizers to the Ghana News Agency to support its COVID-19 pandemic awareness campaign.

The consignments, approved by Food and Drugs Authority is to protect the frontline staff of the Agency, to gather information and disseminate to the public through other media outlets.
Mr Johannes Tetteh, the Event and Marketing officer of Charger Limited, who presented the items on Tuesday, applauded the GNA for being the source of accurate and reliable information to Ghana and beyond.

“As the nation’s mouthpiece, you require your staff to go out to gather news and so the Charger Limited through is supporting you with these protective items for you to continue the good work,” he said.

Mr Tetth noted that the company had monitored the major contribution of the Agency on the media landscape especially serving as a news reference point for all and sundry and commended management and staff.

Receiving the items, Mr Albert Kofi Owusu, the General Manager of the GNA thanked Charger Limited for the support and said it would be shared with the offices nationwide.
He said the gesture would augment the low supply and appealed to other companies to support the GNA with more.

Mr Owusu urged the public to adhere to the safety measures outlined by the Ministry of Health to minimise exposure to the COVID-19, saying the “virus is not a respecter of persons”.

He said the COVID-19 was real and had killed many people, which adversely affected all sectors globally, especially health and economy.

Mr Owusu said preventive measures such as the washing of hands with soap under running water, observation of social distancing, avoiding shaking of hands among others could help prevent the spread of the virus.
