Green Cross Ghana supports 500 households in Asokore Mampong Municipality

Kumasi, May 08, GNA – Green Cross Ghana (GCG), an organization that seeks to promote a just, sustainable, and secured future for all, has donated food items to 500 households in the Asokore Mampong Municipality.

The gesture formed part of activities being rolled out by the organization, which is a local chapter of Green Cross International, to mitigate the economic impact on vulnerable families following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation, which included rice, sugar, cooking oil, sardines, and tomato paste was done through Mass Foundation, a local partner of GCG.

Mr. Masawudu Mubarick, President of GCG who presented the items to Mass Foundation for onward distribution to beneficiary families underlined the need for increased support for the needy in society.

He said many vulnerable persons required such interventions to survive the harsh economic impact of the global pandemic.

“This is our small way of supporting those who really need help in the municipality and we intend to extend it to other places in the coming weeks”, he assured.

He said it was the collective responsibility of well-to-do individuals and organizations to extend help to the poor to cushion them during these difficult times.
