Fodome health facilities, communities receive support to fight coronavirus

Fodome Helu (V/R), May 05, GNA – “Fodome Tomorrow,” a social Group at Fodome in the Hohoe Municipality, has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other items worth GH¢15,722.00 to three health facilities and communities in the Fodome Traditional Area to fight coronavirus.

The Fodome Helu, Fodome Woe and Fodome Axor health facilities received 25 litres of surgical spirit, 250 millilitres (ml) of liquid soap, 60 pieces of disposable gowns, three bottles of parazone, 10 boxes of examination gloves and six boxes of surgical masks.

Other items donated were six boxes of surgical gloves, three bottles each of hand sanitizer and salvon, three millilitres each of 2ml and 20ml syringes and three packs of ‘Papa Jumbo Towel’ while 200 pieces of locally produced face masks were donated to the communities.

Madam Rosina Adoboe, a member of the Group who made the donation said the Group’s development philosophy was anchored on “self-help before request or hope for external assistance”.

She expressed the hope that the items would help the facilities in “this crucial time.”

Dr. Pius Mensah, Medical Superintendent of the Hohoe Municipal Hospital and the Acting Hohoe Municipal Director of Health who received the items on behalf of the Health Directorate expressed gratitude to the Group for the support.

He said the donation came at the right time when the Directorate was finding it difficult to provide some needed PPE to health facilities in the Municipalities and called for more support.

The Medical Superintendent said the items would be used appropriately.
