Tamale (N/R), April 29, GNA – Evame Clothing a private business based in Tamale has donated 45 pieces of fabric-made face masks to Medical Ward three of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The donation aims at supporting health workers at the ward to protect themselves in responding to COVID’19.
Mr Raymond Edem Gakpe, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Evame Clothing, said COVID-19 was real and dangerous, which prompted his outfit to donate to the ward to enable its staff help suppress its spread.
He said the gift was part of the business’ corporate responsibility and advised the beneficiaries to observe the precautionary measures by the World Health Organisation and the Ghana Health service, including hand washing with soap under running water, using alcohol based hand sanitizers as well as exercising to boost the immune system.
“Wear a face mask to public spaces to minimize the spread of respiratory aerosol that may contain the virus and remember, the virus knows no boundary neither is it a respecter of persons”, he added.
He said Evame Clothing is a home-based fashion institute that is ready to help many other health facilities and individuals and indicated that the company needed financial support to produce more masks for distribution.
Madam Sheila Azundow, the Principal Nursing Officer of the ward who received the items on behalf of the Deputy Director of Nursing, expressed gratitude to Evame Clothing for the gesture.
She appealed to NGOs, institutions, individuals, philanthropic organisations and the corporate world for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to support staff of the ward to effectively protect themselves against the virus while giving care.
