Accra, April 28, GNA – Limitless, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) with a focus on creating awareness about Persons with Disability (PWDs), has donated 200 bags of rice and 200 sachets of milo to the Ghana Federation of the Disability Organisations.
Mr. Arnav Nambiar, Founder of Limitless, said the NGO with a focus on improving the livelihood of PWDs, felt it was prudent to support the PWDs in the trying time of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
He expressed the hope that the items would at least meet some of their basic needs, adding, “We at Limitless believe it is our duty to help people in need and we felt we could also make members of the Federation smile.”
Mrs. Cynthia Mamle Morrison, the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, lauded Mr. Arnav for the love shown towards the PWDs.
“For a young man of his age to think about the vulnerable and support them like this is admirable. And I pray that God blesses him to give more of such live touching support to the vulnerable,” she said.
She urged other young people capable of helping needy ones in the community including PWDs not to hesitate to do their part to help society.
Dr. Peter Obeng Asamoah, Executive Director of the Ghana Blind Union, on behalf of the Federation, expressed unending gratitude to the NGO for the kind gesture and other bodies for showing them love.
He appealed to other well-meaning individuals and corporate entities to come to their aid, saying, ‘nothing is too small’.
“I appeal to them to also identify the persons with disability in their communities and show them love,” he added.
The Federation comprises Ghana Association of Persons with Albinism, Ghana Blind Union, Ghana National Association of the Deaf, and the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled.
