Enchi(W/N) April 21, GNA – Crisphils Goldfields Limited has donated Personal Protective Equipment ( PPEs) to two institutions in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region to fight COVID-19.
The beneficiary institutions that includes Aowin Health directorate and Aowin Municipal assembly, received Veronica buckets, bundles of tissue papers, boxes of hand sanitizers, boxes of robbing alcohol, basins, liquid soap, nose masks and hand gloves.
The items are to be distributed to frontline health workers and various communities in the municipality.
Speaking at separate presentations, Mr Isaac Bonah, Public Relations Officer of the company, said the donation formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, adding that the fight against COVID-19 should not be left in the hands of the government alone.
He assured that the company would assist the Municipal Assembly, Health directorate and traditional authorities in their quest to fight COVID -19 in the area.
Mr Bonah advised residents in their catchment areas and the public to adhere to accepted protocols, including; observing social distancing, regular hand washing with soap under running water, frequent use of hand sanitizers among others to manage and prevent the spread of the virus.
Mrs Rita Auther, Aowin Municipal Director of Ghana Health Service and Mr Adu Gyamfi, the Municipal Chief Executive, who received the items on behalf of their institutions, commended the company for the kind gesture and promised to put them into good use in order to help stop the spread of the virus.
The MCE asked the company to ensure that foreigners who worked for the company complied with all by-laws in the area.
He also advised residents to take the fight against COVID-19 seriously and give information on any foreigner who might visit the communities since the area shared boundaries with La Cote d’Ivoire.
