Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/R), April 20, GNA – The Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly in the Bono Region has disinfected Dormaa-Ahenkro, its capital and other parts of the Municipality to prevent any outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 in the area.
The exercise, covered bus terminals, principal streets, gutters and market places.
For a successful exercise, all commercial and trading activities were halted, except pharmacy shops and over the counter medicine sellers that were seen in business, particularly at Dormaa-Ahenkro.
The streets were virtually deserted to allow for smooth operation of the exercise.
A disinfection team comprised of personnel of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a waste management company, the Police, Fire and the National Ambulance Services were deployed to major towns such as Aboabo Number Three, Nsuhia, Asikasu Number Three, Kofibadukrom, Danyame, Nsesereso and Amasu and their environs for the exercise.
It was jointly organised by the Assembly and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development whilst the aforementioned bodies in the Municipality played integral roles for its successful completion.
Later in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Dormaa-Ahenkro, Mr. Drissa Ouattara, the Municipal Chief Executive commended residents for their cooperation and the members of the team for their commitment towards national efforts to contain the spread of the pandemic in the country.
