GNFS supplies free water to underserved communities in C/R

Cape Coast, April 20, GNA – The Central Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) as part of its water relief efforts, supplied potable water to underserved communities in the region.

The move was in line with the utility relief announced by government to provide free water to every Ghanaian for the next three months in the wake of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

Communities in Awutu Senya East, Gomoa East and West and Upper Denkyira districts have so far benefited from the ongoing exercise.

According to the Regional Commander, DOI John Amartey, the Service was collaborating with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to supply water to communities that had challenges with accessing potable water.

The Regional Commander called on other Assemblies to collaborate with the Fire Stations in their Districts to ensure that everyone got access to potable water.
