Foundation supports Sissala East Health Directorate

Tumu, (UW/R) April 15, GNA – The Virtue Foundation has supported the Sissala East Municipal Directorate of health with assorted items to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

Mr Mohammed Issah Bataklia, the Country Director of Virtue Foundation presented 600 Veronica buckets, 600 bottles of liquid soap and 500 pieces of locally made mask.

“I am here on behalf of the Virtue Foundation and the Okoa Project both United State of America based and on my behalf as the Country Director of Virtue Foundation to present these items to you to assist in the fight of COVID-19”, he said.

He said, “The Virtue Foundation and the Okoa Project were guided by the principle that global change begins within us – One person at a time, one act at a time”.

Mr Bataklia said the world at these difficult moments needed more of these individual actions to fight the dangerous pandemic labelled COVID-19 saying, “In this light, I will entreat every one of us to adhere strictly to the safety protocols as prescribed by the health authorities both globally and nationally. Let us endeavour to constantly wash our hands with soap under running water, observe social distancing”.

“As part of our contributions towards the COVID-19 fight, the Virtue Foundation, a Non-Profit Organisation with special consultative status to the United Nations and a long-standing development partner to the Sissala East Municipality and other parts of the country in collaboration with the Okoa Project donates to help fight the pandemic”, he stressed.

Mr Alex Bapula, the Municipal Director of health who received the items thanked Virtue Foundation for the support to the health sector especially the gynaecological, obstetric and other medical operations.
