Sogakofe (VR), April 02, GNA – Mr. Emmanuel Louis Agama, the District Chief Executive of South Tongu District in the Volta Region has presented water tanks to 11 electoral areas to address acute water challenges in the areas.
The electoral areas are; Toklokpo Electoral Area, Dedo Electoral Area, Dabala Central Mosque, Agorgbe Electoral Area, and Dalive Electoral Area.
The rest are; Agbogbla EP Basic School, Tosukpo D/A Basis School, Lakpo, Fievie-Kpoviedzi Electoral Area, Agbakope and Atravenu Electoral Area.
They were presented with water tanks with different water holding capacities.
Mr. Agama said access to potable water had been a major problem in District, hence, the decision to get tanks for the areas as part of measures to fight COVID-19.
He said the tanks, which cost GH¢ 83,000, was from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and hinted that other areas would have theirs soon.
He entreated the beneficiaries to make good use of the tanks and generate income to develop their communities.
Mr. Agama entreated the Assembly Members to educate their communities to take precautionary measures to stop the spread of CONVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Innocent Gbedzi, the Assembly Member for Toklokpo-Hlevi Electoral Area, lauded the kind gesture of the Assembly and assured that the tanks would be used for the intended purpose.
