Dambai (O/R), April 02, GNA – Mr Michael Yaw Gyato, Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi East Constituency in the Oti Region has donated 20.000 alcohol-based hand sanitizers to his constituents.
The sanitizers, worth GH¢ 50, 000.00 were to help stop the spread of COVID-19 the Constituency.
The MP after the presentation advised returnees from lockdown cities into the Region to self- isolate themselves for 14 days in support of the fight against COVID-19.
He urged the people, especially the aged to adhere to preventive measures by World Health Organization and avoid public gatherings as well as wash their hands regularly with soap under running water.
Mr Gyato said the Region did not have the requisite equipment and logistics to contain the novel COVID-19, thus, it was important for all residents to endeavour to strictly observe the health safety protocols.
The MP urged the security agencies especially those at entry points to discharge their duties effectively and maintain social distancing.
He was grateful to the chiefs in the Region for their support in the fight against the pandemic and Non-Governmental Organizations, which helped through donations.
