Kumasi, March 17, GNA – Authorities of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), have given students a five-day ultimatum to vacate campus.
Ghanaian students, according to the authorities, have up to Saturday, March 21, 2020, to leave the campus, while international students could stay until further notice.
“Residential halls would be under a lockdown after the said ultimatum has expired,” a statement signed by Mr A. K. Boateng, KNUST Registrar and issued in Kumasi on Monday, noted.
It entreated staff and students to follow the protocols as established by the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The statement indicated that the University community would be updated on any future developments.
Ghana has so far recorded six cases of the COVID-19, since its outbreak about four months ago in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
