U-20 WAFU Zone B: Musibau’s brace secures win for Ghana over Niger

Accra, Oct. 21, GNA – Ghana’s U-20 team, the Black Satellites, won their first match in the ongoing U-20 WAFU B Championship, defeating Niger 2-0 at the Stade de Omnisport in Togo. 
 
Aziz Musibau scored twice in the second half to give the Black Satellites all three points, and they currently led Group A with four points. 
 
Following their 2-2 draw against Benin in the group opener, Desmond Offei’s side was under pressure to get positive results against Niger in their second match. 
 
The Black Satellites had a good start against Niger, creating numerous chances in the first half but couldn’t capitalise. 
 
However, Musibau, who was very crucial for the team’s recent African Games title success, stepped up with a brilliant strike in the 63rd minute to give Ghana the lead. 
 
 

Musibau scored his second goal in the 73rd minute, another sizzling strike to give Ghana the cushion goal. 
 
The Black Satellites dominated the game afterwards, securing all three points at the end of the match. 
 
Ghana’s Black Satellites will face Togo in their last group match on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. 
 
The U-20 WAFU Zone B Championship serves as a qualifier for next year’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Egypt.
