Sewua Nkosuohemaa organises free health screening for residents

Sewua (Ash), Sept. 04, GNA – Nana Ama Adease Tipa II, the Development Queen Mother (Nkosuohemaa) of the Sewua Traditional Council, has organized a free health screening for residents in the community.

Over 1000 beneficiaries were screened for various ailments such as blood pressure, hepatitis B, malaria, among others.

The queen mother, who is also a health worker in the United Kingdom (UK), speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), noted that, healthcare was paramount to the residents and was going to help improve their wellbeing.

In addition, she said, her vision was to ensure that the residents had access to quality healthcare irrespective of their economic situation.

She noted that her focus for the residents was to bring healthcare right to their doorstep to ensure a healthy society for the people of Sewua.

The Queen Mother urged the people to take their health issues seriously by seeking regular checkups.

“The human body is like a car which requires periodic servicing, so you must not wait till sickness consumes your entire body before seeking medical treatment,” she said.

Medications were distributed to those diagnosed with various ailments by the medical team.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the GNA commended the Queen Mother for the exercise to improve their health conditions.
