Accra, Aug. 26, GNA – The sixth edition of Miss Health Ghana, the premier pageant for health practitioners, has been launched with a focus on promoting sustainable health practices.
The sixth edition, themed “Health through Innovation for a Healthier and Sustainable Future,” would bring together health workers and students in the modelling industry to compete for various prizes.
With the grand finale set for November 2, 2024, at the Marriott Hotel in Accra, auditions to select contestants would take place on September 22, 2024, at the same venue.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, Madam Gladys Akyere Rockson, CEO of Lamrock Agency, organisers of the pageant, expressed excitement with the success of the platform as they marked the sixth year of their journey.
She stated that this year’s edition would amplify the need to embrace technological advancements and innovation as pivotal drivers of improved health service delivery.
“The theme for this year is not just a call to action for today, but a promise we make to the generations that follow—a future where our great-grandchildren can thrive in good health and vitality.
“While diseases like cancer and organ failure continue to afflict young lives, we firmly believe that by fostering innovation and promoting sustainable health practices, we can create a healthier and more equitable future for all.
“Yes, we will not stand idle; we must leverage our collective talents and capabilities to make our world better,” she said.
Madam Rockson also highlighted the impact the Miss Health Ghana platform has had on lives, having initiated over 80 health projects over a period of six years.
“This platform was designed to empower young women to become champions of health initiatives and projects that positively impact their communities.
“Through our rigorous selection process and comprehensive training, we seek to identify and nurture talent within the health and wellness sector,” she stated.
Madam Rockson also hinted at plans for a green campaign tour at various tertiary institutions so as to build a sustainable future filled with better health for all.
