Dr Olympio Attipoe installed sub-chief at Keta

Keta, (V/R), Oct. 23, GNA – Dr Olympio Kordzo Attipoe, a 54-year-old economist and tax expert, has been installed as Hanua (sub-chief) for Attipoekope in Keta.

He was outdoored at a ceremony on Sunday, to present him to the entire Attipoekope community following the completion of the necessary processes.

The new Hanua was sworn in by Togbi James-Ocloo V, the Dufia (Chief) of Keta on behalf of the Anlo Traditional Council, after he was led by Mr Emmanuel Hayibor, the Registrar of the Anlo Traditional Council to swear the Oath of Office.

The day also saw the swearing in of six male and female community leaders.

Togbi Gbordzor III, the Dusifiaga of Anlo and Paramount Chief of Fugo Traditional Area, who chaired the ceremony, blessed the new Hanua and advised the people to cooperate with him and the new community leaders for the needed impact.

“As your community leader, you have to support him to succeed, prompt him when you think he is going wrong but not to attack him.”

In delivering his maiden speech, Hanua Attipoe outlined some initiatives he intended to introduce within a year which included equiping the youth with entrepreneurship skills.

“We will introduce ‘Attipoekope Hanua Endowment Fund’ to support our youth and entrepreneurs from the community because this is one sure way, we can promote our human resources by equipping them,” he said.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency, some residents said they were happy their community had been elevated after many years to have a sub-chief.

“We are glad the Anlo Traditional Council has recognised the good deeds and capabilities of our brother and made him our leader, this is a sign of development, and we are happy,” one said.

As Hanua, Dr Attipoe will be responsible for the direct administration of the Attipoekope community with his leaders under the supervision of Dufia Togbi James-Ocloo V.

The father of five, who was a former tax consultant for Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), holds an International MBA in Financial Management from Indian Management School and Research Center and the University of Northeast Virginia.
