Accra, Dec. 21, GNA – Compassion International Ghana (CIGH) has introduced a platform called “Resolver” to aid in tracking reported cases of abuse and stimulate quick intervention.
The platform, Resolver, is an internal child protection reporting system designed to track all incidents of abuse, neglect, and exploitation experienced by children.
It is, however, expected to support over 100,000 children who suffer from any kind of abuse in the Ghanaian community.
The Senior Manager of Programme Support for CIGH, Madam Florence Sena Amponsah stated that, some victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation find it difficult to and uncomfortable to report cases, hence the provision of several options for reporting cases increases the chances of victims repost their ordeals.
“However, our experience from across our operational areas shows that not everyone who experiences abuse, neglect, or exploitation feels comfortable telling another person. Best practices indicate that providing options for reporting increases the likelihood of victims finding a reporting method that they feel comfortable with and will be more willing to access,” she said.
CIGH has over the years partnered with government agencies like DOVVSU and Social Welfare to strengthen the accountability in reporting abuse cases by creating awareness.
She added that CIGH church partners have also been very fruitful in creating a condusive and safe space for victims to report cases of abuse.
Several other government stakeholders on child protection like DOVVSU and Social Welfare also educated attendees at launch on the type and forms of child abuse and how to report such cases for help.
