Hohoe (V/R), Jun 4, GNA – Mrs Monica Awuku, the Hohoe Branch Manager of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), has revealed that the Company has instituted an award scheme to recognise deserving employers under its operational zones.
She said the awards which would be rolled out on quarterly basis, will honour employers who complied with payment of contributions and accurate declaration of their labour force.
Mrs Awuku made this known during a short ceremony held to award “Wofa Kumah Enterprise”, a Hohoe-based company, as the Best Employer in terms of SSNIT contributions.
She said SSNIT had recognised that Enterprise had fulfilled its obligations over the years especially in 2021 and it was important that it was recognised to serve as a motivation to other employers.
Mrs Awuku said Enterprise had also complied with all the selection criteria of the award scheme and to the provision of the National Pensions Act, 2008, Act 766.
She encouraged all employers to declare the right labour force they had and submit timely contribution reports to avoid the payment of a penalty.
Mr Enos Kumahtsey, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wofa Kumah Enterprise, was happy for the recognition and grateful to SSNIT.
He said as employers, it was important to fulfil their obligations and especially pay SSNIT for workers to enable them to have a better retirement.
Mr Kumahtsey admonished the workers to continue to work for the growth of the company to enhance the payments of their SSNIT contributions.
He also called on SSNIT to always offer the company the necessary support and education.
It has a staff strength of 150 and distributes to parts of the Volta and Oti Regions.
Some of the staff were elated by the recognition since their SSNIT payments were being made while promising to put in their best to ensure more recognition.
