Paris, Apr. 24, (dpa/GNA) - Some 25% of voters have cast their ballot in France’s run-off presidential elections, according to the Interior Ministry.
By noon (1000 GMT), turnout stood at 26.41%, the ministry said, up from 25.48% at the same time during the first round of voting two weeks ago.
Some 48.7 million French citizens are eligible to vote in this year’s run-off election between moderate incumbent Emmanuel Macron and far-right challenger Marine Le Pen.
Compared to the run-off vote between Macron and Le Pen five years ago, voter turnout has been slightly lower so far, with 28% having cast their ballot by noon in 2017.
