Berlin, Apr. 6, (dpa/GNA) - Ukraine’s second city Kharkiv was once again the target of numerous attacks by Russian forces using various weapons during the night, regional governor Oleh Synyehubov wrote on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
“The enemy wants to demoralize us and continues to carry out chaotic strikes against civilian infrastructure,” he wrote. The eastern Ukrainian city has been shelled almost continuously since the war began on February 24.
Synyehubov also announced that fighting was taking place near the Kharkiv region town of Izyum. “Our forces are holding the positions … The Russians are trying to break through, but they are failing and suffering heavy losses instead.”
