Versailles, France, March 10, (dpa/GNA) – Former European Council President, Donald Tusk, has spoken out against any form of concession towards Russia in the effort to end its attack on Ukraine.
“Our every weakness, our every concession will be used against us,” Tusk said. “The tougher the sanctions, the greater our solidarity with Ukraine, the bigger the chance to avoid the worst-case scenario, which is a war on our territory.”
Speaking ahead of an EU leaders’ summit, the former Polish prime minister said Europe’s “appeasement” of Russia over the past decade was “maybe the biggest geopolitical mistake.”
