Osu enstools new Chief

Accra, Feb. 13, GNA – The chiefs and people of Osu have installed a new Osu Mantse with the stool name Teteete Nii Nortey Owuo IV.

Known in private life as Nicholas Nii Nortey Owuo, the Chief 44 years, succeeds the late Osu Mantse, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, who passed on in February 2021.

Teteete Nii Nortey Owuo IV swore the oath of allegiance to the Kingmakers (Osu Dzaase) led by Nii Saban Atsen VII.

He expressed gratitude to the Dzaase for his enstoolment as the Chief of Osu and called for unity among the people to move the community from its present state to a brighter one.

He pledged to ensure that the late Kinka Dowuona was given a befitting burial for the work he did during his tenure as the Chief of Osu.

“I have a lot of things to do for the progress of Osu, particularly education and youth employment, and I want to assure the youth that I will not disappoint them,” he stated.

He said: “I am ready to serve you rather than you serve me,” and pleaded with the Dzaase and the elders of the town to support him to meet the development aspirations of the people.

Mr Lawrence Quist, the Spokesperson for the Dzaase, said the chieftaincy of Osu rotated between two houses, “Dowuona We” and “Owuo We,” so it became clear that after the demise of the late Kinka Dowuona it was the turn of Owuo We.

He said to this end, the Dzaase met and after that, they communicated to Owuo We to nominate a candidate for the stool, hence the installation of Teteete Nii Nortey Owuo IV.
