Ghanaians cautioned against causing obstructions at fire scenes

Accra, Feb. 19, GNA – The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has asked the citizenry to desist from obstructing fire scenes during emergencies.

A statement from the Service and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said during emergencies like accidents, there were often spillages of fuel and other dangerous combustible substances thus firefighters should be given the needed space to operate.

It said heckling and invasion of workspace of fire officers during emergencies affected them psychologically, sometimes resulting in wrong decision making.

“We encourage the public to adhere to best safety practices at home and places of work, especially during this Harmattan Season,” it said.
