Chief urges Avenor indigenes in diaspora to help develop homeland

Akatsi (VR), Feb. 02, GNA-Torgbe Dorglo Anumah VI, Paramount Chief of Avenor Traditional Area and President of the Avenor Traditional Council has appealed to Avenor sons and daughters in the diaspora to help develop their homeland where they hail from.

He said it was important to “remember where you come from” and the need to help develop that community.

Torgbe Dorgloh Anumah VI, who is also a member of the National House of Chiefs, made the appeal in a remark as Chairman during the commissioning of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) new Municipal office at Akatsi in the Volta Region.

He urged all chiefs and people from Avenor to put aside any differences they may have but rather work in collaboration for accelerated socio-economic growth of the area.

Torgbe Dorgloh lamented on the wrong perception of some people living outside their place of origin about fear of being spiritually attacked or whatsoever after engaging in any benevolent activity on their homeland.

He said the old adage: “They will kill you”, must be washed away, “if we wanted our area to develop.”

“Avenorland can only develop if we all come together and work towards it,” he added.

Torgbe Dorgloh also commended some hard working indigenes from the Traditional area for their relentless efforts towards the growth of the area.

He further called for an exhibition of the maintenance culture of new projects and others, which were coming to the area.

The new ultra-modern office building adds to four, the number of DVLA offices in the Volta Region.

Many dignitaries who attended the commissioning ceremony, included all the chiefs from Avenor.
