Kpone, Jan. 26, GNA – Mr. Joseph Tettey Annang, Asafoatse of the Kpone Traditional Area has described the current springing up of unauthorized structures in the Municipality as unacceptable and disturbing.
The unauthorized structures some serving as residential accommodation among others are unacceptable as some of them obstructed the view of drivers and free-flow of vehicular and human movement in the district.
In an interaction with the Ghana News Agency in Kpone, the Asafoatse mentioned that constructing structures haphazardly without any expert planning could have a serious consequence especially flooding during the rainy seasons.
“I have personally given some people warning and asked them to remove the containers and the wooding structures, some are even putting their structures on the roads, very soon,” he added.
Mr Annang said the trend must be stopped as it had many negative consequences on society saying that most of these illegal structures occupied lanes reserved for future development.
The Asafoatse called on the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly to instill discipline in the development of structures, take the necessary legal measures to remove the unauthorized structures.
