Let’s be decorous in interpreting prophecies—Pastor

Abesim, (B/R), Jan. 28, GNA – Apostle Kwadwo Osei Anane, the General Overseer of Calvary Love Ministry International at Abesim, near Sunyani, has asked Ministers of the Gospel to be decorous in interpreting prophecies in order not to scare and create unnecessary fear in the minds of the people.

He said although prophecy remained biblical certainty, more ought to go into its interpretation, saying “God always reveals to redeem and not to harm”.

“We need God’s guidance, knowledge, and wisdom to interpret and communicate prophecies in order not to create fear and scare our hearers”, Apostle Anane told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview.

He said some prophecies were authentic and inspired by God, but regretted the way and manner some Ministers of the Gospel interpreted and communicated the divine message to the audience and the church in general.

Apostle Anane expressed discomfort about the behaviour of upcoming prophets, prophetesses and men of God, who rushed to the media and published prophetic messages without God’s guidance, saying such behaviour remained unhealthy and created public fear and panic.

“We have to pray deep into any revelation concerning individuals, families and the nation and seek God’s guidance so that we can communicate these spiritual messages decorously for the public good,” he said.

Apostle Anane also cautioned the media to remain circumspect and avoid embellishing matters of religion, faith and spirituality.

He said Ghana remained a religious country with a hallmark of religious tolerance and co-existence and asked the media to avoid tendencies that could mar the beauty of the nation’s religious forbearance.

Apostle Anane expressed grave concern about rising acts of immorality, lawlessness and moral decadence among the youth, and called on religious bodies to take the responsibility to help instil morality and fear of God in the current generation.
