Ten soldiers killed in northern Afghanistan

Kabul, Jan. 18, (dpa/GNA) – Ten members of the Afghan army were killed in a Taliban attack in the country’s northern Baghlan province, officials said on Monday.

The militants attacked a military base on the Baghlan-Samangan highway overnight, local councillor Bismillah Attash said.

Baghlan has for years been one of the volatile provinces in the north, and has seen repeated Taliban attacks.

In 2019, Taliban attacked and briefly captured some areas of the provincial capital city, before they were pushed back.
