Sunyani, Dec. 05, GNA – All is set for the December 7, presidential and parliamentary elections in the 12 constituencies of the Bono Region.
Election materials have since November 18, 2020, been dispatched to the constituencies and secured at the custody of the various District and Municipal Police Commands in the region, Mr. Frank Nunoo, the Bono Regional Director of the Electoral Commission told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Sunyani on Friday.
He said all required election materials including Biometric Validation Devices (BVDs), ballot papers, thump print pads, and tactile jackets to aid the visually impaired voters were intact.
A total of 653,637 eligible voters were also expected to cast their ballots in the 1,484 polling stations across the region, he added.
Mr. Nunoo explained the EC officials were expected to dispatch election materials to the various polling stations between 1200 hours and 0600 hours on December 7, adding adequate COVID-19 personal protective equipment had also been available.
As at the time of filing this report, several voters from all walks of life had already arrived in the Sunyani East and Sunyani West constituencies to cast their ballots on December 7.
