Bolgatanga, Oct 30, GNA – Mr Abdulai Abanga, aspiring Member of Parliament for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Binduri has reiterated that his plans for the development of the district is now and has called on the electorate to vote for him to remove the NDC.
Mr Abanga, a second time contender of the incumbent NDC MP and aspiring candidate, Dr Robert Kuganab-lem, also indicated that in 2016, the people of the constituency were not told the right story about him and the NPP hence his inability to win the seat.
He said his opponent was lacking capacity, experience and was doing practically nothing for the constituency.
Mr Abanga who is a Chartered Accountant and farmer said in an interview with the GNA said his opponent lacked lobbying skills and complained all the time and for four years he continued to deprive the district of infrastructure and economic development.
“I am capable of supporting and creating a path for the people especially women farmers to find financial support to increase their income generating activities”. Mr Abanga stated.
Mr Abanga who was a one- time Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) for Bawku Municipal under the NPP administration, said he would improve Village Savings and Loans scheme that most women groups were engaged in the area and reiterated his passion to modernize the system of local banking to a more formalized banking that would increase access to credit for the people of the Binduri district.
The aspirant who felt strong that history would repeat itself in the Binduri District urged the electorate to vote for NPP for another four years.
He urged the people to vote the NPP to continue to enjoy the developmental interventions charted for them under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government.
He stressed that under the NPP government, farmers had benefitted under the fertilizer subsidy, and indicated that students were enjoying free SHS among others because of NPP.
‘Don’t vote somebody who does not think of the needy and the poor “. He stressed.
The aspirant, who showed passion for farming said he wanted to see his people enjoy improved livelihoods considering the high levels of illiteracy in the district, and noted that agriculture would move to a high level in the district when he becomes the MP.
His core agenda he noted was to ensure that agricultural mechanization services was improved, increased production of cereals and vegetables and maximum extension services for farmers in the district since majority of the people relied on rain-fed and irrigation farming.
He said it would create more jobs for women, youth and men and pledged improvement of the current status of the district.
He noted that the district lacked portable water and its accompanying challenges to the people and pledged that “everybody in Binduri will have potable water in the constituency.”
